Recently, I was asked to review a new subscription beauty box called Handpicked. I always get so excited when asked to review a new product and this was no exception so I purchased the October box and was pleasantly surprised. Full Disclosure# – I was given the opportunity to buy this box at a discounted price in order to review. All comments are strictly my own and the discount has no impact on my ability to evaluate it fairly.
You know, after a while all these beauty boxes look alike. I am not always happy with all the products that I receive but I was with this one. Some products you love, some not so much but every once in a while one comes in the mail that I just absolutely love.
Voila! Introducing, my first review of the Handpicked beauty box!
Here’s the stuff you want to know up front:
- Handpicked is a monthly subscription beauty box
- Each box contains 5 full sized products, valued at up to $150
- Cost $39.99 + shipping
Here’s what I got in my box….All full-size products with brands you may recognize like Tarte, Pacifica, & Stila . Some you can buy at Ulta or Sephora, some are stand alone products sold on their own websites. Either way, it’s a great value for the price!
I love Josie Maran products so any time I can try one like in this case is awesome!
This is the Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee. it’s a small sized jar, but a little goes a long way.
My favorite thing in the box is the Pacifica eye shadow palette. This one is called POWER OF LOVE. It’s a nude color palette, that’s so popular right now so I know you will enjoy all of these colors.
Here’s a pic of the stila double mirror compact. Not my fave but it may be just what you are looking for. (Sorry, I couldn’t get a picture of the mirror with me in it) 🙁
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Tarte enery noir LipSurgence skintuitive lip gloss. I love lip gloss anyways but I am so in LOVE with this color!
The last item in the box is a split pan bronzer highlighter by MANNAKADAR BEAUTY. Using a bronzer is a great way to just highlight or contour your cheeks to help add definition to your face. Also a great way to keep your skin looking like it is halfway alive during the winter months when we are all white as a ghost.
A couple of things I would just say . It’s pretty expensive compared to some others but the products defiantly make it a worthwhile investment. Shipping should be included (even though I know it’s terribly expensive) and the price should be adjusted for that so that it doesn’t seem so out of most people’s price range. Also, I wish that there had been a card inside letting me know about each product. Also, maybe as the company grows they can update the actual box itself so too that it’s more memorable.
My honest opinion is that this is a great beauty box subscription that you would want to have in your collection.
